How rare?

Hey guys, I'm seriously considering buying a 71 340 Cuda in original curious yellow. It also came with white top, white billboards, and black and white interior. Is this a super rare color combo as I can't seem to find even one picture on the web in this combo?  The closest one I found is a convertible. Anyone on this forum own one in this combo?

There is no way to know. Options weren't broken down like that. You can find out how many 340 cars there were, but not how many 340 cars were yellow. You can find out the % that were yellow, but not how many of those had a white top...exc

certainly not very common.  I haven't seen one like that in a very long time

If you're talking about the one currently advertised on Moparts.com, it DID NOT come with white bill boards, only white top and interior. It also has zero documentation to back it up other then "pictures" of the original tags and sheet, which have very little value. Comes with reproduction fender tags.

Other then that, it is a pretty rare combo and priced very fair as well. If it was documented better, I would have bought it by now.

That sounds very similar but saw on Craigslist. Talked to owner for 45 minutes tonight. He sent me pics of data plate before and after. It has option m88 quarter panel tape treatment. Isn't that the billboard code?

Is the guy's name Dan from East Hartford CT ? If so same car. The story I got is he's misplaced the original tags and the original broadcast sheet, however he has photos of them and a new repro tag.

M88 is tail panel molding on a 1971 Cuda. V6W would be white billboard...pretty rare option.

I have some strong interest in the car as well, but with his current asking price and the lack of documents, I just can't justify it.

If you're looking for someone to restore the car...ship it up here, I love restoring 71 Cudas

Yeah, same guy. He said a bunch a parts are at his dad's house where the car had to sit outside for six months previously. He said tags and broadcast are in dad's house somewhere.  Man, having second thoughts not bring a white billboard car now..

Yea, other then a rally dash and dual mirrors the car doesn't have any real cool options like spoilers stripes etc...

Very unique colour combo, which I love....but not enough for me to pull the trigger...

I was interested in that car as well but have too much going on right now. The guy seems really nice and sounds like a straight shooter. It is only about 2 hours from me. If its still around in a month or so I may go look at it. If it was a billboard car and didn't have all that rust bleeding through would probably be in my garage right now.

Yeah, from pics, body looked pretty done. I'd probably still pop on it if it weren't body needing redoing. That IS my favorite high impact color, with triple black set up being my ultimate favorite, but I think I'm gonna pass on this one.  Thanks for the input.

I'm not sure what pictures you guys saw but it appears to have been outside for awhile. I have a batch of pictures in my e-mail showing the less attractive parts. If you want them PM me your E-mail and I will forward them over.
