70 challenger A/C heater hose placement
« on: January 17, 2014 - 02:25:34 PM »
Does anybody have pics or can tell me the exact placement of the heater hoses going from the heater core to the heater bypass valve and then to the water pump housing on a 383? specifically showing the 1/2 hose placement and connections to the A/c Heater valve and to the engine.

It seems that it's pretty specific with the A/C heater valve. As the valve has one 1/2 inch connection and the water pump housing  should have one 1/2 inch nipple connection. My water pump housing has two 5/8th nipples ( I am fixing that with a conversion back to the 1/2 inch connection. So I need the exact routing).
Thanks

Thanks,
I tried the image search. I just can't see the exact placement of the 1/2 inch section from the bypass valve to the water pump housing etc.
Hopefully, someone has a 1970 or so Challenger with A/C and a Big Block that can tell me where the 1/2 hose goes.

Just saw your post. I have a 70 Challenger with a 383-4 bbl with AC.  On my car when looking at the water control valve from the radiator side, the upper outlet is 1/2. When looking at the top of the water pump housing, the outlet closest to the carb is 1/2. The other outlet on top of the water pump housing closest to the radiator is 5/8. Both outlets on the water control valve on the firewall side and both heater outlets on the firewall are 5/8. Hope this helps.
