Shoulder belts for 1970 Cuda Convertible...
« on: January 22, 2008 - 09:44:04 PM »
Has anyone upgraded to shoulder belts / 3-point belts into an E-body convertible?  Paddock has a conversion for the front seats, but am curious if anyone else has done this, and where did you get the belts?

Any info advice on getting shoulder belts into the back seats?

Thanks...

Shoulder belts would be interesting but I haven't got that far.  Just to have seat belt would be a break though for me. lol

How often would those shoulder belts keep falling off your shoulder.  What a pain in the a$$ that would be.............................................. Glad i don't have to comply to that ruling. :faint:

I would have to go with a late model seat with the belt installed in the backrest.

that drawling looks scary :crying:

3 point front seatbelts are mandatory in Australia if post 1964.
For my pillar less 65 Riviera coupe i set the seatbelts into the body below the back qtr widows
i.e.just behind the shoulder of the front driver/passenger (pretty lame from a safety point of view, but at least it's legal)

I'm thinking that Challenger convertible front seat belts could be a good guide for this

Would anyone have these engineering drawings from this old thread?
Or a pic of something similar

I realize that I wouldn't want to screw up the door trim if I was to do this on a nicely finished car so i'd probably get a substandard trim to chop a hole into

I have found a way around the 3 point mounting on Mopar's here in Australia. :2thumbs:

Whoops. I shouldn't have written "Australia" as I dunno about the rest of the country outside of NSW. Will talk to about this Kenny! Thanks!
