Mancini Sale Question On Timing Cover
« on: April 18, 2014 - 10:51:00 AM »
Hey guys,

Mancini Is having a sale which is rare and I'm thinking about getting the timing cover below.

I just wanted to get anyone's opinion if they have used this one before and does it seal with the oil pan well? Its for my small block 340. I know it's a little pricy but if it seals better then I may bite the bullet and go for it.  Thanks

Is the stock cover just as good?  Anything you can give me is appreciated.

If you plan on doing cam changes frequently then is might be a good deal, but I can't see spending
500 bucks on a timing cover. It's not like it's terribly difficult to seal a smallblock front cover. Usually their
biggest sealing problem is in the crank seal anyway. That's been my experience.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

:iagree:  Unless money is no object, why a billet, two piece timing cover set up for an electric water pump? Use the stock one and spend the $500 you didn't spend on a tube of good RTV sealant and a nice cam and kit.
