alt wiring
« on: May 01, 2014 - 11:08:51 AM »
I replaced the old alt with a chrome one.

The main bolted wire goes without saying, but as far as I can tell, both the new alt and old have no indication of where the green and blue wires should go...

Does it not matter where I connect them? Are they interchangeable?

They can be hooked up to either terminal...it doesn't matter.  Sometimes you'll find that one wire is longer then the other and it will hook up better one way.

from what I read.
Blue goes to F+
Green goes to F-
If you want to stick to the schematic version.

Ok thanks.

Problem is there is no F+ and F-. Both alts have unmarked brackets.

It will work either way , as above though 1 wire is usually a bit longer to reach the lower terminal better
