A friend is telling me that the Proform carbs will leak because they are basically a Holley. He suggests Edelbrock. Thoughts?

Sure put on an untunable Eddy carb because the gaskets may leak in a few years ... Not , the Proform is a far superior carb & do some maintainence on it from time to time , the biggest problem is the ethanol in the fuel so try to use fuel with no ethanol

The new demon carbs are very well built, now that Barry Grant doesn't own the company, I have an older one that I had great luck with, but some haven't. If you don't think they've come around, look at the new engine masters article on the engineering of their supercharged app carbs. Very well done piece.

My Proform 950 has been basically bolt on and forget it, other than some air bleed changes, for the past 6 years. I would not bother with the choke model unless you drive in really cold weather

I've heard great things about proform and since they are built around a Holley design I could easily use one but I cannot bring myself to buy a purple carb since that's the only choice I have in 950cfm.

Although I see they now have a street version and aluminum versions in other cfm ratings.

I'm liking the looks of this one and she might just fit the bill! (made from proform parts too!)

More food for thought based on your cam:

I might actually benefit from going to annular, time will tell.

Annulars work great, but with a dual plane they will get richer the higher you pull. If you have a good carb guy a little work to your emulsion bleeds you'll be fine.
Oh, little off subject Holley is who bought out Demon carbs.
