IM NEW, but only at this board,, Challenger vert sunvisor Q!
« on: April 20, 2005 - 11:26:49 PM »

Im a 5 years old Challenger owner from Sweden.

Ok, not 5 myself, but I have own this pearl of mine for five years now!

Ive been adicted to moparts.com for a couple of years and have only positive to tell.

You have to apologize my funny way to spell certain words, but try ít in Swedish if you think its easy with a foreign language!!

I have to thank the pre owner of my car to make it possible for me to buy a running project of a rustfree all matching # original Challenger R/T FY1 convertible.

THATS NUFF FOR HISTORY!

SO,, my car is starting to look OK, this year Ive put my savings on a completely repaint after sanding down the car to "bare metal".

I wanna to make her look "as close as useful" but the main purpose for me and this car is to DRIVE it!

I cant help myself from slamming the pedal and make the 275 spin!! :grinyes:

She have 3.91 and a bunch of tuneup parts under the hood,,, I just wanna tell you that IM NOT A GUY WHO KEEPS MY CAR IN "JAIL" !!

Ohhhh sorry,, that was more boring history,, sorry,,,

So todays first Q:

My sunvisors are cracked and in bad shape, its the only part of the car that isnt "desent"!

The car is FY1 and the interior is going to be original H6XW (White).

Ive seen pictures of HT-cars with the same combo and white visors, hey they even had white pillarmouldings!!

But my car have black "end of front window, pillarpost mouldings",

PLEASE any Challenger guru out there to confirm what color to use on the visors of mine?

Thanks in advance and best regards  Olle B

Welcome aboard Olle, you seem like a hardcase mate.  ;) 8)

H6XW = Black and White. If your car came to you with black pillar posts I would imagine that is how they came.

It should be:

Black Carpet
Black Console
Black Dash

White Seat Covers (Seats)
White Door Panels
White Pillar Posts
White Sun Visors
White Headliner

Your car looks awesome mate, gorgous. Sits very nicely to.  :wasted:

That is a beautiful RT convertible Olle B   Possibly the only thing i can add concerning your interior color would be that the kick panels would be black on a car that came with a white interior. Welcome aboard  :dogpile:

Thanks,,

Well what can I say,, the pictures always tell the true,, or??

It HAVE been featured in Swedens biggest carmagazine, it have gained throphies at minor shows, but the paint was cracked and looked like an old MING piece from China!!

So thats why Im into this total resto with new DuPont FY1, TRI-bumpers, new mouldings, letters, rubber, AND original shaped legendary white interior.

The car had original black bumble bee and convertible top, but you are telling me they have changed all the window frame metal and plastic mouldings from white to black when they changed from white to black interior!!  :o :o

That sounds like a serious operation back in the 80´s when they change the interior on the car (1982)!

BUT IF I UNDERSTAND THIS CORRECT:
That says,, no car left the factory with black mouldings and H6XW!

Its you guys who are the pro´s, Im only listening, but Im sorry if I keep on arguing about it,, its hard for me to understand that they changed so many parts.

Well,, well,,

Hopefully the car will get in return from the painter next week.

Cant wait to idle her up and go for the seasons first trip.

New for the year will be an X-pipe added to the TTi 2.5" system ( 1 7/8" cc headers).
Last season I tuned up the engine making the 906´s as "closed chambers" (71cc) and added a 271H Crowercam.
The ports was grinded in the bowl area as much as p and an Holley SD intake was added, all bearings are changed, the rotation items are weightmatched, the 727 have been converted and added clutchplates, the weights have been latched and drilled and well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I NEED TO GET HER ROLLING!!! :driving:

Thanks once again for the inputs, since I cant afford to buy the pillar and headliner this season I have to go for black visors, Ill bet noone could tell if its correct or not, at least not in Sweden!! :grinyes:

Great looking car!!  Welcome to cc.com!!  Lots of fun here.  Well I don't really see you needing a headliner . . . if the car did come with a white interior, then you're right, someone changed alot of the parts!!  Black looks good on that car but you'll have to post more pics for me to make a proper determination!  Welcome again!!    :dogpile:

Thanks,,

Well heres how it gonna be for this season,, Im sorry, but as mention, the MAIN PURPOSE is to hunt BMW´s and Porsches in my area!!

Im gonna keep ALL THE BLACK PARTS,, such as, seat backs, seat mouldings, doorpanels (both front and rear), all the pillar and frame mouldings.

Its easier to say:
Im only going to swap the seatcovers.

Hey,,, Tokyo wasent built on ONE day, or how does they say!! ::)

Im sure the contrast between black and white parts gonna do fine, and all the blacks are in VERY GOOD CONDITION!.

Ive been working on this car 1000 hours a year since 2000 and Im sure its gonna end up well.

Best R Olle B

More pictures,, well heres one, sorry for my pigcolored skin,, we northliving people havent THAT much sunlight!:
