408 Stroker Birthday Present
« on: June 02, 2014 - 06:13:21 PM »
My birthday isn't until next week, but my present arrived today!  New 408 ci engine from Carolina Machine Engines.  The dyno sheet is showing 463 HP and 493 torque.  Can someone help me decode the spin sheet as it appears to show a bobweight card for rods, pistons, pins for left and right side with 2 spins? I've not seen one of these before so I will take as much information as you can decode.

Open my present, mounted up the flywheel and March serpentine system and dropping the engine in this morning.  I still need to hook up the fuel lines, mount the fuel pump, install the TTI exhaust system and tips, rear valance, and pray all the wiring works!  :angelwings:

Hope to have her lit by tomorrow.

initial spin should be pre balance to determine how much & where to balance it final spin would be checking to make sure the balance is correct .

So the Bobweight Card contains the numbers used to calculate the balance then?

I cannot contribute to the answer of your questions, but just had to say CONGRATS MAN!

One of these days I hope to have a similar present to replace my 318.

Please keep us posted on your impressions once it is installed and you have a chance to play a bit!
