It all depends on what you want to do. Shocks can enhance or inhibit ride and control of your car. I agree the Bilsteins RCD's are an excellent choice. KYB's are better for trucks in my opinion....you get what you pay for.
I just switched to Ridetech HQ's.....these shocks are incredible. I can ride like a 300 one minute and with a number of clicks be as harsh as road race shocks. I spent a total of $900.00 total in changing leaf springs (ESP), AR Engineering front hangers, Hotchkis Shackles and RideTech HQ shocks. Look for sales on the websites for shock deals. I paid $540.00 total ($135.00 each) for my shocks and they included all new hardware.
