Cuda Window Regulator Problem/Question
« on: May 23, 2014 - 03:54:38 PM »
I bought a used window regulator for my 70 Cuda and the body shop installed it and says the window will not roll up all the way.  After doing some research it looks like the 70 window regulators are different then the 71 and up. I did not realize there was a difference when I bought the regulator.  Does anyone know if there is way to get this window regulator to work or am I going to have to buy a 70 year regulator.

-Thanks

Can you please explain how any differences in the two would not allow the window to have the same amount of travel?
I'm guessing your shop installed it incorrectly or you do not have a correct E Body regulator

Sure, see attached picture.  The 71-74 regulator does not have as many teeth so there is not as much travel.  Please help me if I am missing something because I sure would like to be able to use the regulator I have.  Thanks.

Okay....that's odd....But my question remains....
A 1970 Cuda door and door glass are the same size as in 1971-74 Cudas. The glass has to travel the same distance from open - to - closed in all the years, so explain why the difference?

On Cuda and Challenger doors there are two 2X2 square holes that the window crank shaft can come out of.

Make sure they have installed it in the bottom square. Cuda uses the bottom square while Challenger uses the top.

I hear ya, that is why I am scratching my head because everything else is the same so it does not seem to make sense that it would not work.  As far as the differences between the two regulators maybe they realized in 71 they did not need all this cranking teeth.   :dunno:   I will pass along your info on the 2 x 2 square holes to see if they put it in the wrong one.  Thanks
