Thanks guys I will try and answer all questions here. These leaks are frustrating me.

It's a 74 318 with and edelbrock intake.

The oil line is a small clear plastic tube from where the oil sender would be to the gauge inside. It was done by the pervious owner who was to put it lightly completely useless. I spent the first few years fixing his errors.

I do have a very small leak from where my oil filter attaches to the engine block. It drips directly On to my long tubes I have tried various filters and nothing has helped. I have checked to make sure an old oil filter gasket wasn't left on and the filter is tight.

The car has been parked for a couple days and I have oil on the floor dripped from the bell housing / rear of the oil pan and a small amount of oil on the top rear of the engine around the oils sender/ distributor/ intake areas. I'd say a couple of tablespoons worth of oil on the ground. It seems to leak more parked but requires a drive to get it to leak.

there is a block adapter on the small block , it may be leaking between the adapter & the block .
the oil line could be an issue also , I would make sure both of those are %100 before I went after the rear main seal

Also it can leak from the two galley plugs & the cam plug...

I will try checking those but that dosen't answer why the oil is leaking after the car is shut off. I assume that this oil line can be picked up anywhere if i did decide to rpelace it?

well oil is pushed up the oil line , when it is shut off it may be bleeding down , I would use copper line for the oil gauge though not plastic , generally it is available at any parts store .

You mgiht have the answer to this question actually.

When I shut the car off the line fills with air, is that normal? or should it stay full of oil?

the line often has air bubbles in it , some air will seep up past the oil into the line as the oil drains back down

Had two mechanics tell me I needed rear main seal due to oil leak... After cleaning real good & having the front on jack stands I traced the oil to the rear of the intake manifold, I had replaced the heads a couple of years prior & while installing the intake apparently pushed the rear gasket out of place. 
 Oil didn't leak while sitting still but going down the road it would, jacking up the front made it show.

Long story but I owned a 340 68 Cuda S when I was about 18-19 & I replaced the rear main seal 4 times figuring I had screwed up installing it only to sell the car & find out 10 years later the compression fitting for the oil line to the gauge was overtightened at some point & had a small split in the fitting which you could not see in the car , you had to remove the fitting from the block & inspect it with a magnifying glass !!
