'70 Challenger Vert - $44,999

Looks to be a nice '70 Chally Convertible - would be interesting to see if they have a build sheet or fender tag.

Thats my old car. Very solid underneath. Nice frame rails and torque boxes. It had been an older restoration with a tired 360 in it when I got it.

I put my hemi in and had some fun. Then sold it as a roller after I pulled the hemi out for another car.

The guy that bought it put the 383 in. It looks like he also reupholstered the seats.

The car had some original paperwork and was from Hockessin Delaware. Its originally B5 blue with a 318 thats long gone.

The guy I bought it from did a nice job painting it but he put seams in at the dutchman panel. E body verts were leaded there with no seams.

I have read "Dutchman panel" a few times on here. Care to educate a dummy? Where's that on the car?

Its the sheet metal between the trunk lid and the rear seat that goes from the left to right qtr panel. So on a hardtop, between the rear glass bottom channel and trunk lid.

I have owned three challenger convertibles over the years, the dutchman panel always seems have "stress cracks" at each end where it matches the quarter panels.  I remember this on two of the cars.
Is this a common malady with the vert cars?

Yes, very common. Maybe I'm superstitious but I always jack up the rear by putting the jack under the rear center section. I feel an older car twists if jacked up from one side or the other. I go under the center of the k frame when jacking up the front.

How solid is that body under that pretty paint?  Trunk pan (hate it when they have the mat on)?   Wonder what else he messed up on other than those dutchman panel lines.

He must've had a spare 383 running around, otherwise, why not put a 440 in her with a clone car? 

Not feeling the '71+ dash, but guess it goes with the '72+ slapstick/steering wheel.

$45k, I think it better be super nice at 1 foot, otherwise that's close to A66 340 money.
