Oil Sending unit thread size.
« on: July 08, 2014 - 07:44:18 AM »
I am chansing a leak and thanks to an idea from Chryco i'm looking at my mechanical oil guage as a possible culprit. What is the thread size of the oil sending unit hole? I am planning on capping it and seeing if it still leaks.

Size? NPT?

Thanks!

Shouldn't be hard to find a plug at lowes or napa.

I am likely to change the guage if it's the reason for the oil leak so i am going to just use one of these form homedepot to check. It only needs to be in the engine for 20 minutes.

That is the correct size , it is 1/8" pipe tread so it is a tapered thread . common fitting size
