Play "Find the Mistakes"

OK,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2444358356&category=6198

No disrespect meant, but I found a lot of things that weren't quite right with this Rare, rare, rare, numbers matching, 73 Challenger.  I'll start with a couple:

1973 Dodge Challenger 340 with a Six Pack and 727 Auto Tranny. We believe this to be a "numbers matching" car

ENGINE: 340 c.i. 240 h.p. with two added rebuilt Holley carbs.  HuH ?  Added to a single 2bbl ?

The rest is yours

Interesting. I'm quite surprised with the bidding so far. Wonder what the reserve is? The thing that caught my eye, other than the wrong side stripes, was the "scat pack" 4.11 rear. I think that was loooong gone by 73. :'(

 :o :o

-Hood blackout
-Hood pins
-Wrong stripes
-Wrong tips (already mentioned) - plus really crappy exhaust setup - http://carad.ebayimg.com/i23/01/i/00/f0/c7/08_4.JPG
-Wrong rear bumper guards
-Wrong radio antenna
-6 pack (and Yet!! - Engine: 340 c.i.d. 240 h.p. 1972-74) 4-bbl V8)(they decoded that...)
-Hmmm... ::) (Flat out scats with a Posi- Rear End (gearing believed to 4:11 or high 3s)) - Posi = Chebbie
-"Numbers matching".. not even going there!
-This is one of "those hard to find cars" (I'll give them that much!!)

I really don't understand how that car is pulling,
$ 13,000. It's the normal run of the mill 73 challenger. All the chrome on the entire car is pited or faded out.  The whole under body and chassis has pink over spray everywhere. The trunk is completely splatter painted with chebby splatter paint. The header panel is painted black  and also the rallye side gills with no stripe.  The gaps on the hood and trunk lid are off a good amount. No vin decal on the door, and the dash looks liek it was spray bombed. This looks like it was a decent orgional car that has a new coat of paint, int, and drive train, Trying to make some money off of it. Makes me wonder what I could get for my car. ???

Whoever put this thing together made up a plan as work progressed. Started with a '73 340 Rallye if the vin is correct but then couldn't decide if the finished car would be a 70,71,72,or 73. I sure hope whoever buys it has seen what they're "getting into".

I totally aggree that this car is one big misstake!
Esspecially for the person buying it.
Wow, $13,000,  for a car worth somewhere around half that.
I would much rather have the blue one with the pretty girl next to it.

The buyer of this car will soon find out that he or she should have shopped around and became familiar with what they were looking for.

You know what they say about "a fool and his money".
