Took the Challenger home recently after the winter so I thought I'd mention it here.
It's an ordinary auto, PS, no PB - drums all around. Originally a 318 but now has a built 340 from a '71 Duster. Newly rebuilt 650 Holley, new MSD, "strong" cam (unknown specs), 3 angle grind valve job, heads have harden seats, new pulleys, new valve covers, braided fuel lines, new Glass Pakcs exh., 727 Slap Stick, 8 3/4 rear, 3:23 gears... (More or less copying what the seller wrote
)
It came with Ralleys with center caps and trim rings, but the tires (2x235 & 2x245/60-14) were rotten. Bought some nice used chrome rims with almost unused tires (4x235/60-14) cheap...
It's a California car and was restored in the US before it was exported to Norway - where I bought it.
It doesn't need any MAJOR work I think. There are just some small stuff that needs to be taken care of.
- Small dent w/rust on front left side panel. + Fix up some minor scratches. Paint otherwise ok.
- New rear-view mirror, or fix it up.
- Crack in the plastic below the grille. New or fix it up.
- Trim clips mostly missing...
- Wipers not returning when turned off.
- Put on the RT front spoilers and side scoops.
- Want side-stripes and hood decal.
- Plus some other stuff I cannot remember now...
I must also get someone to have a look at the engine. It's not running right - doesn't deliver as much as it should when I accelerate. It keeps dying on me while driving... I'll write more about this later.
More info going up on
http://errors.no/soda/auto/ when I have some time, with some pics of the car as it looks today. It's great outside today, so I might get some new ones of it. I've included an old picture as it was before I bought it.
I'd love to get some feedback on this.
