I would look at the Hughes 1928 or 2328 cam , both cams will work with stock rockers & stock converter
with 3.55 gears 132 MPH should be possible at 6000 rpm which is a little above the rpm range of the cam depending on tire size

Thanks, whats the benefit with 3:55 over 3:23?
Also, please go into which tire application is needed for 3:55 gears.
I have stock 15x7 rims with 245/60/15 tires.
I wanted to go to 16's with a 50 profile for better cornering. what size and high performance brand/type do you or anybody else recommend to acheive the speed and handling I want? :-\

3.55 will make the car feel lighter & allow it to accelerate faster
I`m not sure what is available for 16" tires but buy the best you can afford

I spoke with some guys at a mopar show. I like to drive in the 80's. They said 3:23 might be better b/c I might be revving too high with the 3:55 gears. What do you think?

Sometimes the 3:55s just let the tires spin a little longer

My son in law & I built a '73 Cuda w/ mildly built 440, 750 Edelbrock on Edelbrock Performer dual plane intake w/ 1  inch spacer under carb, Chryslet HP exhaust manifolds from Road Runner, windage tray, .030 flat top pistons, shaved heads,  cam approximates stock 6 Pak I think, ( about 284-484) 727 trans, 8.75 rear w/ 3.23, 2.25 exhausts w/ free flow mufflers, & 255-60-15 rear tires.  We have not run it at the strip, but it is a very strong car.  Acceleration from 50 or 60 mph is very, very impressive. 100 mph is a pretty good 2-3 shift point, and the car is quite comfy at 60 mph. Much torque available at most any speed you want.   Ovmf

I spoke to Dave at Hughes and he suggests the 1523 BL hydraulic cam with there valve springs. He suggests the Edelbrock performer with the Holley 750 with vacuum secondary. What do you think?
He says that if I deep port match the intake I might gain an extra 8-12 hp  ::)
Is this true b/c it would be worth the extra $100.

My thought is the converter will stall higher than either the 1523 or the 1928 so the extra bottom end won`t help & it will shut off sooner with the 1523 , I did use a 1523 in a stock engine with 8:1 compression & stock intake & exhaust , it made a LOT more power than the stock cam & I ported the intake & exhaust to get the most out of the combo
The Edelbrock performer intake will lose hp over a stock intake DO NOT use it , the Holley 770 Avenger would be my choice

I just switched to 3.55 on my Challenger.  I run 275/50R15s on the back (25 inch tire)

I thouhgt I had 2.93s in the pumkin originally but upon removal they were 3.23 various tools and methods gave me multiple answers, haha

IF your going to drive your car frequently as a daily driver like I do, the 3.55 are fun to have, unless you do alot of driving on hwys over 70mph.   55 or under, and Id still stick with the 3.55's but if alot of driving is over 70mph its a bit much and the 3.23 might suit you better.

(even going from 3.23 to 3.55 it feels like Im driving around in second gear and the gas mileage for me took a hit.   I should mention that 1/2 of my driving is on expressway doing 75-80 just to keep from getting runover by SUVs and work trucks.  I plan to move closer to the office eventually so that I wont have as much expressway driving as a routine )

YMMV,
