I need to take some more pics but here is one more.
The rear tires are the same height as the front (25.8).
The rims are AFS.
I bought them off Ebay for $355 for all 4 + $75 shipping.
I don't think there is that much difference between the 8" and 9" and the 9" fill the wheel wells better.

4.5" backspacing would not work because it would push the tires too far out and make them rub.
I went with all 9" because I you really can't tell they are that wide in front and in the rear you have the ability to have a wider tire that is not sucked way in.  Also if I get too much cupping on the front tires I can put all the same size tires and rotate, since I average about 33,000 miles a year.

Seems like the cars I've seen with this setup are using 4 1/2 back offset. Why did you do it different?
Wouldn't 17x8 in front and 17x9.5 in back be better for your setup?

I've seen this setup I'm quoting with the same tires and the guy doesn't rub. Am I missing something ???

On all the cars I've had that set up would rub on the outside lip of the quarter if the car is sitting stock height. It would kick it to far out!

This is true. The rear rims need to be around 5" backspacing with a 17x9 rim. The wider the rim of course the more BS you need. One can also use the Mopar offset spring kit which moves the springs in 3/4" per side. I am setting up my Duster this way with 17x8 in front & Goodyear F-1's for rubber. I would also recommend getting tubular a-arms so you can gain caster adjustment and keep the tire happy!  ::)

Can you please go into further detail on the statement you made in your last sentence?, thankyou.

The upper A-arms lose adjustment when you crank the torsoin bars down to gain a lower ride height/ handling. Using tubular a-arms with the ball joint repositioned gains further adjustibility of caster which gains negative camber. Many people use these a-arms ($350) to clear coil-over front shocks and going a step further- all the way to a tubular front k-member- both lightweight and strong. So, in conclusion, if you want to handle like a Viper and, of course, spend $ like it too, your car will corner on rails! See www.firmfeelinc.com or magnumforce.com

Another note; you can also put a '66-'69 b-body 8-3/4 & order the offset shackle kit from Mopar.  It will gain 1" of width overall. I had a '72 Cuda set-up this way w/ a 15x10 Centerline rim & 11x29 tire, and still had room on both sides. Of course I also had Superstock springs which raised the car 2". I suppose w/ stock 6/7 leafs, the tire just needs to be 26", not 29" or 30" for drag racing. I am in the process of doing the same thing you are, but to a Duster with the 17 x 9.5's & 8" in front- on Goodyear F-1's (see my other post). Hope this helps.

Which F1:
1)GS-D3? They cost more, but do they really perform that much better. Can you back that statement up with article or your personal experience?

2)By the way, look at www.moparts.com.(general search word=Baer)
They say the better way to go with rim size so side wall is flush with rim lip is 17x8 for 245/45/17 and 17x9.5 for 285/40/17? Please comment on this setup and what should the new backspacing be for front and back on 73 cuda?

I am running 17x9 all the way around.
Backspacing:  4 7/8 Front, 5 1/4 Rear
Tires: 245 45 17 Front, 285 40 17 Rear
The car handles grear with this set-up.
If you go with 16" be prepared to not have any wide tires on the rear since there are not many tire manufactures making wide 16" tires.

Do you know the backspacing I would need for the same tire size you have, but with 17x8 in the front and 17x9.5 in the back? Thanks.

I've seen those pics before. Very nice.
What backspacing do you have?
What back spacing do I need?

I've had these rims for a few years now, my
memory is not that good, but I think the
back spacing is 4 1/2. Just e-mail American
Racing and they will let you know what will
work on a e-body. I don't have any
clearance problems except on a full lock
while reversing out of a steep driveway.
If I went with P235-45-17's on the front
I think that would clear up the little
rubbing on the fender lip.

Thanks, I think 4 1/2 backspacing for front shoud be fine, but I don't know about the back ???
