I was coming home with a couple friends down a route that is heavily watched by cops (and I knew it). It's a 35 zone and I was going 40-45 max (because it's watched so heavily). The section of road that I was on, went downhill a little, then uphill to the left... up ahead I saw flashing lights in the left lane, so I moved over to the right (NO ONE was around me mind you!) Suddenly, in my rear view mirror I see flashing lights coming on strong... well, they're right behind me, so I slow down and stop. The officer approached my car and asked if I knew why he pulled my over. I honestly told him no. He said he clocked me at 53 in a 35. I told him he was lying and asked to see the radar. This is when he got his panties in a knot and started giving me attitude. So, I just play along with the rest of his bullcrap and said 'Cya in court!'....

So, went to court, the judge saw that I was just off supervision, but he granted driving school... so, May 22nd I get to go to driving school, and I'm off supervision on June 7th... ::) It seems I have a problem with authority... oh well!!

Oh, it's true!! I hate cops with a passion... my good friends dad is a State Trooper... oh the stories he's told.... :o :P

Rev... we're going to have to remind Chris that he has to tell the story about the guy in the Porche coming from Atlanta to Birmingham in the middle of the night... I don't want to give it away... but that was ONE of the best ones he told!!! ;D ;D It'll be story-time at Carlisle... ROFL!!! :D

That's one of my favorite stories too.  The fact that it's true just makes it better!

So, you'll have your license in time for Carlisle?

Oh... I've had it... technically... ::) ::) See, up here, (in IL at least) when they give you a ticket, they take your liscense and you drive with the ticket, then, when you pay it or go to court to fight it, you get it back... I get mine back after driving school in May... but I've been driving on the ticket... so it's all good... ;) As long as I don't get stopped again... and they had better have a DAMN good reason to pull me over anymore... >:(

Minor ticket ticket thing.

How often do you all get to renew your license for?

Here it is for either  1 or 3 years. Now, the really stupid thing here is that cops won't pull you over for a broken light, no seatbelt, talking on the cell, etc.....

What happens is that they just write your plate number down, and when you go to renew, you may have a pile of tickets on your file. They won't let you renew unless you pay. Pretty crappy???
My cousin just started driving about 1 year ago. She only has driven for about 8,000 Km. She went to renew last week, and she had a bill of 3,800LE (egyptian pounds) :o :o :o

Now when you convert from LE to $$ it is nothing, but in general, wages here are VERY low. Give you an example, a traffic officer will only make about 500-750LE per month. I have my plant employees making between 500-750LE per month. ($1 = 7LE)

I went to renew last week. We have a DMV at the sporting club in Alex. They do a full inspection of each car. It is also mandatory to have a fire extinguisher in the car (they sell the cars with their own) I have put on close to 40,000Km and only had 1 parking ticket. It all depends on how good the officers eyes are.  ::)

This is why it is so easy to just bribe the officers when you get pulled over. They make so little with wages, you can just give them say 50LE and be on your way. A cop can pull over 10 cars in a week and make his monthly wages right there.

Only in Egypt  ;)

I have been prety lucky cocerning  ticket a cop once clocked me doing 53 in a 40 he stopped me and said if he was driving he would have been doing 100 so he let me go. My luck ran out last year of all things I got sited for a noise violation at the local cruise in I was an easy target being the only one one the street at the time. The only thing it was a rediculous $105 fine.

LB the thing that pisses me of most about cops is letting there friends go. A friend at schools is a retired Cali H.P. and he said after shift they would go to the bar, and a couple of times he got pulled over and let go.. thats BS

I guess theres a reason there is a assult charge for throwing crap at a cop, Id like to hit them with a Wrench some times.

In Michigan they do safety checks when they pull you over if your car looks like it could be in need of repair and give you fix-it/tickets for everything that is wrong.  ex: taillight out, no light on license plate, bald tires, loud exhaust . . . I gotten a hand full of tickets!
