JS...I see a 4 also...but the first letter I see as an S.  That's what threw me off when they started talking about a G.  It is soooo hard to tell.  I wish there was a specific place they put the codes...like most of the paint codes are on the 4th line first code.  I wish I knew what "usually" goes in the 2nd line first code.

Let me see if I have a pic of my mirrors anywhere...they're at the chrome shop right now.

Here's my complete fender tag for a 1974:

I'm not sure there is real order to all the numbers, but maybe you can figure it out from a few examples.

I'd say so, but then again I was the first to put the hand up and take on the G3, first reply, so I was out in the open for a lashing.  

By the way, I didn't hear the call for betting ends?!? LOL!!  

If you look under the line above the "4" you can see easily the top of the "5" shape. But I'm still not 100%, the only reason I'm going "4" is because the shape of the "5" is to close to the bottom of the other ones (the ones above).  

Good call though you were the first to guess correct.  

Rev you dont need to use Galen to get the tag made. Go to AG Backeast and he will make your tag for you and he wont charge you as much as Galen. Here is a link to his web site. http://www.datatags.com/ By the way this is the same place Galen uses to get tags made so you dont have to worry about them being correct cause they will be!!!!
