Engine is sitting in the truck :D
« on: April 20, 2005 - 10:25:58 PM »
Hey, just alittle up date if you guys don't care.  I finally put the engine in the truck i just have to bolt up some engine braces and finish tightening the tranny down and put the transfercase in and locate the shifter rod for the 4wd and then i can start wiring it and i'm still waiting for a plate for my intake and then its pretty well just bolt brackets on and put fluid in it.  can't wait give me another 2 weeks and it should be running i hope.  i'll probably run into more troubles though.

Cool.  What is the info on the Dak?  Sounds like your building a mean mudding machine.

A110235...the info is ....92 Dakota ext. cab 4X4 318 Auto. about 4 years ago when i was 13-14 (first got the truck) the tranny needed rebuilt and so i rebuilt the transfer case sent hte tranny to my uncle and then i tore the motor down and pulled the cab and box off.  4 years later i painted the frame and got the tranny back with a fresh rebuild and a shift kit and my engine just got rebuilt.  it has a body lift and 32s (31s are on there right now) and its going to see some mud but mainly daily driver for now.

WSM.  I first got the idea when i was swapping motors for my 87 dakota i figured since i was doing an engine tranny swap (4banger 5spd to a V8 auto) why not just leave it all together and drop it all in at once.  and then from then on i've just kinda started swaping everything like that enless only the engine or tranny needs to come out.  and with out the front fenders it makes it a heck of alot easier to access bolts and what not.
