Anybody run Cal Tracs Springs?

Just wondering if anyone has experience with them on e bodies? I was thinking about their pros and cons. Definitely a lighter spring for sure.

I run cal tracs and love them. I bought the 0 ride height and use there shocks also. I switched from mopar super stock springs and like the way it sits better and although I haven't been to the track yet it hooks better.

Definitely a lighter spring for sure.

I'd agree they are lighter in weight. They actually are much heavier in rate. I believe Cal-tracs are 200-225# rate whereas Mopar XHD springs are 160#.

Cal-tracs look like an effective method of suspension control. However, they were created by a Ford owner who was trying to duplicate Mopar's asymetrical spring action on his symetrical Ford springs within the rule limits of NHRA stock and super stock rules. If you need to adjust your spring and shock settings to track conditions, they may be a benefit. If you are a set it and forget it type, they may not be the hot ticket

Very cool. Can they be bought with different spring rates? I know they are built for racing, but how does the ride compare with stock springs? I want the car to launch, but I want to keep my kidneys intact as well.

I can post pics next weekend I'm on vacation and for some reason I don't have any pics of my car on my phone. As for the ride, I think it is way better than the ss. I do believe I had the heavier ss rate on mine.

Ok Vin - what kind of shock is that?

I have a caltracs setup on my Yellow Cuda and it sure is stiffer. Once I put new shocks on the rear hopefully it will be a bit more tame.

My experience using Caltracs was zero gain , 60" times were identical using stock leafs or Caltracs

Caltracs were developed by a Ford racer in an effort to get the symetrical Ford springs to act like the Mopar asymetrical SS springs. They may have a couple more adjustment points than a standard SS pack and they may be abit easier to get those adjustments, but the overall operating principles are the same.
