PLEASE READ! RE: HOTEL (Not so urgent anymore...) :)
« on: July 08, 2014 - 05:40:22 PM »
Hey guys,

I got a call today from the club hotel that frankly I didn't understand, so I just need some help.

They're asking me for a list of names of everyone who booked a room under our club.  Now of course, I don't have that, nor do I think I'll get it very easily as I know not everyone is going to read this tonight...

IF you reserved a room at the Quality Inn that we have a block at, PLEASE send me a PM with your REAL name.  ALSO, mention how many rooms you reserved (if more than one,) and lastly, tell me if you reserved under my name or not!

If I understood the guy correctly - and I highly doubt I did - they still have all the rooms listed under my name, which means they're going to try to bill me for the 18 rooms I reserved.  Now, why they did that, I dunno, and I'll tell them to pound sand because they obviously screwed up if they didn't take my name off each room as it was reserved...

OR, he might have been saying that he still has several rooms available, and needs to know if I still need them.  Anymore now I think everyone is pretty much covered, so I'll tell him I don't need them anymore.  I thought they were to be automatically canceled several weeks ago.

I know some people booked even before I called them, so send me a short message with yoru details and I'll call them tomorrow to hopefully sort this out.

Who knows - maybe I'll get someone who speaks english!!!

Jeff,

Back when I was the sorry sad sack that made the Hotel reservations there, they held the block of rooms until 72 hours out. Then anyone can get them. You won't be stuck footing the bill for any unclaimed room. I wasn't.

Tell Habib to take a chill pill.

I booked on my own before you started this? 1 room Brad Richmond.
On a side note since I booked quite awhile ago and never received a confirmation email/number I thought I had better  phone and double check. So I did and the guy tells me no reservation existed. I started to get pissed off in a panic. I then suggested he check the wed or Saturday thinking someone has made a mistake. He found it coming in on the wed and insisted I have to pay for the wed as well and if I changed anything I would loose my room. I wasn't having any part of that noise! :swear:
So after some reasoning he said ok. Gotta like those loveable new immigrants! :sly: The A/C BETTER work!!!!
I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling about this place...... :-\

I have a confirmation # and I checked on it online earlier today and they had us for 1 night only and checking out Sat at Noon.

Called the hotel and they changed it. Just checked now and it's correct.

Thanks for everyone who has responded so far.

It does look like a lot of people booked either before my reservation, or they just didn't put people under my reservation.  Either way, I plan on cancelling any unclaimed rooms tomorrow morning, so if you know anyone who still needs a place to stay, tell them to call ASAP.

Thanks again guys and gals!  See ya soon!

I booked my own under the Choice Hotel's website. I usually don't book with the reserved blocks because they always seem to charge less if they think you are driving through and staying a couple of days. When you tell them about a show or event, the price starts going up.
How much did you pay for your rooms?
My single King Bed room for Friday and Saturday is $80.99 each night with a AAA discount.

I booked my own room and have a reservation confirmation... so I'm all set.     Well... maybe.

My grandson is due on July 20th and I had volunteered to baby sit my 2 year old granddaughter if needed..... Of course, I really didn't think they'd need me -- but my daughter-in-laws' Mother has developed some health issues.....   So - it looks like my "services" might be needed.    Now, I was serious when I made this offer.... but I haven't changed a diaper in 35 years.... (well - my late wife might say "never" )     Anyway, got a call a this afternoon from my son who says they really could use me when the time comes.... and after a Doc's appointment this morning -- well it could be anytime in the next week.

So - while I"ve been looking forward to this for more than a year..... been working on the car, etc......    BUT -- I told my son to keep me posted and whether I drive to Boston from Vermont or Carlisle -- I'll be there.

My plan is to leave on Thursday and arrive in Carlisle about Friday noon.   So, since there's a chance I may get a call before I leave, that would mean I'll have a room available for someone to use Thursday night.     I'm sure I'll get hit with at least one night's charge..... maybe more.   Then again - maybe I'll luck out and she won't start labor for another week!

I'll keep you all posted ....

ONE!!  They have ONE room reserved in our block!!

Unbelievable...

Well, I'm glad everyone has rooms, I'm just frustrated that they've done this lousy of a job keeping track of things.

Next year I'm just going to rent an RV and we're all going to stay there...  :)  ViperManLand on Wheels!!

Close - it was Ehab...

And after all the drama, they still sold out for Saturday night.  He told me Sunday as I was checking out that they had 100 calls over the weekend from people looking for a room.

No surprise I guess that Carlisle set the record for attendees at the Chrysler show this year!
