just another 70 cuda pro touring build
« on: July 08, 2014 - 10:03:44 PM »
I finally got some pics of a 70 cuda that I am building...The project started with a 3k field car but has quickly gone up...Here is a small list of what's going on..Schwartz chassis with airride, mini tubbed to accept a 345 m/t radial tire out back, custom fuel tank with a1000 pump built in, full custom exhaust with spintech mufflers, ford 9" rear, gm 4l80 transmission, 6.1 hemi with a kb blower up top,  Late model dash from a 07 charger, Body mods ...it's easier to say that the deck lid is the only piece that is stock....I have been picking your guys brains on some components for the engine in order to try and achieve say 800bhp and have had a lot of good info and thank Andy at pwr for his ideas.... I am now in the final stage of buying parts for mock up and if anybody wants to throw in some ideas feel free. ...Trying to decide on a ecm and harness..I kinda like the holly system but it may be overkill for what I am doing (basically a high-end show car)....So fire away with comments or suggestions Thanks Bret

Incredible ...The only fault I could see on a build of this caliber was the "stock" trunk hinge supports...they have to go. Even if you fab something of the same basic shape, they need to be a lot "cleaner" looking. :2cents:

Otherwise :worshippy :droolingbounce:

Freakin' amazing!

They make a double DIN radio bezel for LX cars.  Or use the factory navigation one.

I would do something a bit more on the rear valance.  Like maybe some splitters and vent.

Kind of like the Car Fix Camaro (Sta-bil):

'71 383-auto 'Cuda 'vert (sold)

I was thinking of doing something different with the valance but my customer wants to keep the body line somewhat stock..(kinda maybe)

your customer an old guy?

I woulda put a TR6060 in her.   Maybe next no-limit build, use a Roadster shop chassis with IRS?

What color combo?

your customer an old guy?   .... BINGO.... he had a zo6 corvette six speed and bad knees

I woulda put a TR6060 in her.   Maybe next no-limit build, use a Roadster shop chassis with IRS?....not a real big fan of irs too much going on I like to try and keep it simple. This car is getting complicated with all the intercooler and heat exchanger stuff

What color combo? ...shiny silver on the body including the floor pan..and I think the chassis and engine bay will be a light charcoal gray in a matte finish
