Ceralli's Machine Shop - Paterson, NJ
« on: July 09, 2014 - 08:29:44 PM »
Anyone ever use Ceralli Racing Engines in Paterson, NJ? Thinking about having them do the machine work and a stroker short block build on my 440. Seems like they do a lot of mopars, ran across them on the forabodiesonly forum.

Always good to check Angies List, and the Better Business Bureau, to check for formal complaints.
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

I asked some of my Buick friends about them but no one has used them recently as they are a Mopar specialist and a little GM work.  No one had heard anything bad regarding them.

Yea I've seen some about them on forabodiesonly and moparts forums. Seems like they have a good reputation and know their mopars. I'm most likely going to use them, I'll post about my experience for others in the future

Bill Ceralli use to do a lot of my machine work back in the 80's & 90's. Very good shop and knows the Mopar stuff too.

I use to run NHRA Stock & SuperStock  A-Engines , but he does do big block engine's as well, also has a Dyno if needed..

Thanks for the feedback. In the next week or so I'm going to have them Magnaflux and sonic check my block. If all checks out ok, I'm going to get a price for them to assemble my short block  Any ideas what a ballpark figure on this should be?

Spoke with bill ceralli today, seems like a super nice and honest guy. I was dead set on a 440 source stroker kit based on readings on this forum, but bill was not a fan so that has me thinking. He would much rather piece together a kit with a scat crank, eagle rods etc. Any thoughts on this?

The quote for a short block build including the rotating assembly was roughly 4400. Breakdown was 1200 for full machining, 1200 for assembly and 2000 for parts. Does this sound reasonable? Wasn't expecting this much for a short block build, gonna have to save more pennies

Ask long as I known Bill he like's to do things the right way,  that way he knows what he's got and will give you the very best product..

Most kits are just basic stuff.  He has a lot of knowledge on what works and what does not..

Prices,  like I said the 80's are over..  :2thumbs:
