Oklahoma Hot Rod Hundred Video
« on: July 09, 2014 - 11:17:41 PM »
For fathers day weekend a group of classic cars from the Oklahoma City area gathered in Mustang,OK and drove to Lake Murray in Ardmore, OK.  The idea was to get out of the parking lot rut and drive 'em.  It was a combination poker run, rolling car show and a fantastic time.  I met a bunch of great people, had a blast and the Challenger only caught fire once.  :faint:  A short in the alternator in Ardmore on the return trip caused quite a fire that nuked the end of my harness, two plug wires and of course the alt.  A quick repair of the harness and a replacement alt from the local Oreillys and we were back on the road.  Boy am I glad that I never leave home without a fire extinguisher.  The video was shot by my co-workers son from his real slick Chevy pickup.  I will post pics tomorrow.

Almost forgot to mention that there was another group that left Dallas at the same time that we left Mustang and met us at Lake Murray.  There was a ton of cool cars, people and an overall great time.  I hope this catches on and spreads to other areas.  A great experience with a t-shirt and badge of honor sticker for the back glass.

Getting them out for a drive is the best reason for owning them... I'll still catch a show once in a while but getting a group together for a drive I could do that every weekend..

Nice to see a 41 Ford in the mix! That was our family's first street rod / project. Lots of fun memories!

Looks like a cool cruise!  :burnout: :ylsuper:

CudamanTom,  I'll be sure to get you the info for the 2015 run and if you ever want to get together just send me a message.  That is one awesome looking Cuda! We are in Moore off of SW 149th and Western, but almost ended up in Kansas after that last tornado (missed us by a few blocks).

Consider this my "send a message" for a get together.
