Don't know if I saw your car or not but was amazed at how many rusty project type cars were all over the show field. Thought it was great that these were out as obviously the owners were proud of them and I got to see them. The hobby can't all be finished cars, varying degrees of patina are appreciated.  :)

I have only seen one rusty car in the pictures so far.   Got any to share?

When you're dealing with nay-sayers, I think the best response is to "smile and wave" LOL  If the guy isn't hep enough to get where YOUR car is coming from, DON'T give him the satisfaction of knowing he got under your skin. Generally, they're testicularly-challenged boors who are compensating for something missing in their pathetic little lives and not worth raising your blood pressure over.  F'm and be comfortable in your own skin and car.

The attitude you experienced is what inspired the direction I'm taking with my 72. I got so sick of people saying "this car its wrong" i decided to make it as wrong as possible . 440 six pak 5 speed 72 Challenger convertible? Yessir! Would you prefer i weld a roof on it and put the 318 auto back in?

Rule #1. Unless they own the car or are offering to pay for the  work, their opinion is irrelevant. Don't take it personal, just smile cuz you get to drive and enjoy your car.
Yes I own a 1972 Dodge Challenger Convertible T/A S/E with a 440 Six Pak. Can it get any more wrong?

When I get attitudes like the ones posted, typically my first response is . . . . "So where is your car?"

Don't feel bad. These a-holes are everywhere. I took the car/trailer to a cruse and parked next to a whorevette. As I was leaving I over heard the a-hole say "Good. I didn't want to be next to a mopar anyway." I think he was just jealous cause people kept walking right by his car to see my trailer.

I am a little surprised to hear that, since it was a Mopar show, but I guess there are still idiots. Before I got my Cuda, I owned 3 Challengers in the late 80's through 1995, and if I had a $1 for every person who said "Nice Charger"..ugh.

Some people love cars for what they can do (run fast, handle well). Other people validate themselves through owning and/or recognizing a rare car. The cult of Govier is strong

I look at it like this i built my CUDA the way i want it and i dont care what others think. If they dont like it then dont look at it.Dont get to upset over the comments those type of people are the people who criticize and they dont have something  half as nice as yours or any car at all for that matter. My husband says to people all the time when someone comments about the cuda or his gto since it is done in chamelon WHERE'S YOUR S**T BRING YOUR S**T OVER HERE AND LET ME SEE IT.

Along the same lines as what Michele's saying, years ago I was at a World of Wheels show, toward the end, and I was watching this guy take down a display at the center of which was a 70 Challenger Hemi. The display had the car rotating and tilted, so you could see that every components in the suspension had been chromed. When they took it down they carefully rolled it off the turntable, and then they were winching it up on a trailer while I was talking to the owner. Conversation went like this:

Me: Nice car.
Him: Thanks. It's fast too.
Me: Maybe, but I'll bet mine's faster.
Him: Whaddya have?
Me: 73 with a 318.
Him: (laughing) What makes you think yours is faster?
Me: As far as I can tell you don't start yours.
