340 rebuild/collecting parts

I plan to rebuilt my 340 engine. It´s my first so i like to have advice. My goal is get approx. 350 hp.
It´s a 73 block but i think i use 68-71 style pistons(should i buy forged?). Crankshaft is cast-iron 3462387, rods are 3418645 not pressed. J-heads with 1.88 intake (i´m going to change them 2.02).
I have 71 318 engine with Edelbrock Perfomer 318/360 intake manifold and Holley 4160 600 cfm carburetor could i use those to save money (i could change them later)
I don´t have a camshaft yet.
I like to make the bottom end first with decent parts so i don´t have to think that later. Is those crankshaft and rods ok? I don´t have to immediately get 350 hp if i can´t with those intake manifold and carb.

I would use forged pistons , if the bottom end is top quality you can do almost anything later without changing them out , I would use a steel crank though not hte cast one , you may find it cheaper to get a 408 CI stroker pkg & replace everyhting at once , J heads are OK but if you can find a set of 308 castings they will make more power if you are going to spend $ having large valves installed anyway
