Sunday 4/24 on TLC. Original airdate was Oct 2004, so some of you may have already seen this.

Here's the synopsis:

http://tlc.discovery.com/fansites/overhaulin/episode/season2/episode208/episode208.html
_________________________

James received his 1971 Dodge Challenger from his dad, as a graduation present years ago. James' wife Stephanie knows that James wants the car to be a slick, sleek, raging muscle car, instead of the beaten weekend project that it is. She contacted Overhaulin', and the A-Team — Chip Foose, Shawn Williams, Tracy Tichenor, Jason Garrett, Tim Herren, Phil Wilson, Aaron McDonald, John Hopper and Shane Boulay — was dispatched to the rescue.

During the week of the build, James is told that the car has been stolen, learning later that it's been taken by a shop that is playing a game with the law. The game: insist that the car owner allowed both the handover of the car and the work done on it. Bringing James to the shop in question, James is asked to help with a police sting. James agrees. Quickly audio-wired and conversing with the "Crooked Shop Owner," James is finally informed that Overhaulin' took his Dodge and made it into a dream car!

I know I'll be watching!

Slideshow showed some interesting pictures. Some of the things they did to the car aren't to my tastes, but one thing that caught my attention were the rims. Kind of a modernized version of the Rally rims.

They removed all the Dodge emblems off, they removed the wing, and they made the interior look cheap and plastiky.  Also, the paintjob was ugly.

 Couldnt have said it better myself, I really didnt think too highly of what foose and his team did to it. I was watching that episode at my uncle's house and he said "I bet you wished you car looked like that" and I just replied "Pppppffffffttt".  I think they should stick with the chevies and fords, its easier to improve on those

To be honest, tastes are all different - and I would be bummed if they put a ton of money and time in my car and it wasn't what I wanted.

Watch and be dissapointed.

Heck, at the beginning Foose apologizes to all the Mopar ppl watching for even touching the car.
Asa side note, I was watching some TLC show about a Caddilac build up, and Foose stole away that Charlie guy that used to work for Boyd Codd- (american hot rod) and was about the most likable and high-speed individual on the whole show.

Seriously, that car was just fine before they started monkeying with it.   The motor was about all that needed a little work and they didnt do anything for it.

FWIW
I cant see how your car can be "stolen" and given back to you all Ghetto-fied "rollin on dubs" and it be all perfectly legal without the actual title owners consent.   Foose - Schmoose.   He shoulda stopped his mopar-monkeying with SickFish and called it good.

Wow, they're showing this episode yet again....(can't they make a new episode  )  Anyways, I get asked a lot here on campus what I'd do if Foose were to do my Chally like that....Let's just say what would happen off the camera wouldn't be pretty.

I could not believe he took:

the gull wing off
the flip top gas cap & trim ring
smoothed the door handles
smoothed the side markers

All I can say is those are the coolest parts to these cars and without them, I feel he took the race-inspired designs from it.  In other words, he really FOOSED that '71 up! :pissed:  I'm no purist by any means, but I at least alter things only to a point where if at any time, I could remove what I installed/painted and put it back to factory specifications.  If I was the owner, I seriously would have started  on camera. (and they wouldn't be tears of joy)    :boxer:   me---->  :spank: <---Foose

I've already warned my family and friends that there will be hell to pay if they call Overhaulin' when I get my Mopar.

What are you talking about?  The last I heard they were putting your Neon on Pimp My Ride.  Ish was going to "suede" out your interior fo' yo man.  Then because you like muscle cars so much, they were going to paint it like an AAR with hockey stripes and an R/T Challenger style hood. ::) (notice none of those are really on an AAR)  I hope that's what you like cause that's the way they are going to do it. ......$40,000 later, you'll still have a car worth $8,500.00, but hey, it'll be "pimp" yo. ::)

they stole the steering wheel too              why did the guy give the ok to do that to a nice car. show is pre-arranged, can't risk lawsuits
Why are the only other cars on the road all in my rear view mirror?  Oh yeah cause I got a 440/6 pack

Thank you GOD for the "Go Fast Division"

That car came out great.  The owner obviously was happy with the outcome.  It was modernized.  Not all Mopars have to be boring.
