cuda tail panel trim
« on: July 16, 2014 - 03:11:40 AM »
Hi guys, I've just received my tail panel trim and clips for my 1970 cuda from the team at roseville, but can't work out how the plastic " H " shaped clips attach to the top and bottom trim as they have a piece protruding from each side of the clip( obviously one clips through the hole drilled in the tail panel ) and I'm not sure how the metal clips go into the " C " shaped end trim? And what is the best way to install all this? I don't want to mess this up as it costs a fortune to get the parts sent down here in New Zealand, I hope this makes sense, any advice is greatly appreciated
Thanks
Kyle

the H clips go on the top and bottom of the tail panel. Line the little plastic pin sticking out of the clip with the hole in the tail panel and bang it in flush to the clip. That attaches the clip to the tail panel. Then you hold the trim against the clip and push it on to lock it on the clip. ( in theory that's how it works but with aftermarket trim and clips it is usually a nightmare to get them to work.) There are 3 clips with little wings on that slide on the "C" trim pieces that will bolt to the tail panel.

Thanks Rich G, I can't seem to work out how the metal clips go into the c shaped pieces of trim, I assume you put these in the trim first then line them up with the holes and bolt them on last as they seem to overlap the top and bottom pieces of trim?

you are correct.  The metal clips slide some in the trim pieces!
