73 cuda front sway bar point up or down?
« on: July 18, 2014 - 09:52:06 PM »
Team,
am putting my front sway bar back on, though I had a photo of it but dont seem to, anyway, the bar bends around and makes its way back to the LCA it has a slight curve in it, when its in the car, should it curve up or droop down as such?? my memory tells me it should droop not curve up... does that make sense?

Awwww..My favorite pet-peeve.....A lot of people install them wrong.

Your sway bar should be frowning, NOT smiling ...curve up !  Sway bar links have the nuts on top. Sway bar loop bolts point down while the loop bracket bolts point up. :2cents:

Alan, how do you get a swaybar to smile instead of frown?

There is no way I could have gotten it together without the bar pointing down.

That's my point, maybe when the kmember is on the car you cannot because I couldn't slip it through the kmember the wrong way cause it just wouldn't go.

Anyway, if it's pointing up you would have to shorten the endlinks to make it work.

The bar fits through the K member either way. End links fit either way. :2cents:
