hey there,
Greg  -i didn't actually do the paint stripping. one of my best guys at work did it.
on the big panels he used paint stripper provided by the panel shop who'll finish the car. then hit everything with a wire wheel to get to the state you see. I assume the lights eetc were done the same way.

i have been having a look at his quick progress every day - I'll ask him  today about that area specifically

Alan - yeah, since I have now ripped it to bits it could be argued I probably coulda bought a car a lot cheaper and in pieces. Altho at least we know how this one goes back together and the only panel I'm replacing is the deck filler between trunk and rear window. the panel shop could fix the various wounds around the bottom of the window, but easier to whack a new panel in.

Not that it really matters now, but I''m thinking that:
a) the car is complete
b) since I got the car here in Oz, I saved a lot in freight and taxes that would be incurred on entry to Australia
c) it's not a rust bucket

it has its share of little issues around the car, but the panel shop are really pleased with the condition and don't anticipate too much drama.

it'll be killer very soon. engine, trans, carbys are all reconditioned and waiting to drop in.

once we have it on a rack, the front cross member and rear will go for a clean up
