What are your plans for it ? Enjoy it as is...or a full restoration ? Looks like a nasty dent in the front fender... :-\

yeah, it's a good whack eh. the roof is bang about lots too. luckily i had seen it all so no surprises.

I think i'll get it running and registered pretty quickly then assess things.

tempting to keep it off the road for a full paint job now, but I just don't feel 100% about throwing down that much loot on paint just yet.

hafta check about the registration issues with the side exhaust and seatbelts.

got a leak from the steering box. hope not too serious.

as expected, i am needing just about everything made of rubber.
I've got a good bunch of parts coming from here in Oz.

hopefully that'll tighten things up in the front end.

about to put new plugs in it today:

I think to truly appreciate it post restoration you need to drive it in it's current state so you can truly feel like you haven't wasted all your money!

I love it and i bet even in it's current state it will still draw some attention!  :burnout:

These days I think it will draw more attention as an un-restored car...  Plus driving it you won't fear every rock chip & door ding.... You still try to avoid things obviously but it doesn't stress you out quite as much... & I've owned both types of cars so I know of what I speak..

"to truly appreciate it post restoration you need to drive it in it's current state"

I think that's a good point.

my gut is saying drive as-is for a while

seems a shame to keep it off the road even longer whilst i get it painted.

underbody is great, so I wouldn't mind anyone's thoughts on a good way to preserve the condition.

As I've noted elsewhere, I live REALLY close to the ocean and my whole hometown is surrounded by salt water:
beaches, river and what you'd loosely call mangrove swamp
i.e. good rust breeding area

so I'm loath to paint anything under there or coat it with too much crap. I'll ask a local panel shop what they think, but your opinions will be important too.

anyway, it looks bloody wild with all those dings, but I'm SO hangin  to pump Detroit Rock City from it when I get it on the road.

need these too....   :drunk:
