Value of '72 Cuda?
« on: July 24, 2014 - 05:25:46 PM »
My brother is wanting to look at a '72 340  ' Cuda. Automatic, rallies, paint good, interior very good, all original. Any idea what it's worth?

#3 condition?  Engine compartment painted to match?  Trunk in good shape?

I'd say between $25-32k depending on color/options and of course, overall condition and how well it runs and maybe #s matching 340.

Trunk nice, matching color,  engine bay not sure but clean. Rails all clean. 340 hockey stripe. If 1 is best condition this is a 2.5 with minor flaws. Does that help? He's asking $29k.

He might get that, but it depends also where he's located and if there's a strong market in that area for older muscle cars.

Lotsa folks won't buy out of state unless it's super cheap or very rare and a decent price.

This was posted in another thread, albeit it's for a 318 car but it may help.

Sorry for the late reply.

Nice car, very clean. Front fenders looked like someone drove through brush and then they either tried to buff it out or clear coated and buffed smooth. Very noticeable in the sun.
He changed the Ralleye wheels to the dog dish wheels without letting me know before making the 100 mile trip . He said he sold them.  :villagers:
Power brakes didn't seem to work at all. If I didn't see the brake booster I would have sworn it was manual brakes.

Supposedly a number matching engine (that wouldn't fall out of a tree). But he said he never verified if it was numbers matching. What the heck? Sounded really strange that he wouldn't verify it.

So, I didn't even make an offer. I'm still looking.
Thanks for the replies and if anyone has a cuda for sale let me know. I'm in SW ohio and am willing to travel 200 miles or more if the right car becomes available.
