I found it a Autozone, have not ordered one yet though, for a 72, probably fits earlier e-bodys also.

Thanks sound control! ! I see some are plastic and some are metal? I'm guessing plastic would be stock. Also one is reverse rotation? What one would be for a AC car?

My car is an AC car and the first one, standard plastic, looks exactly like my stock wheel. Maybe the metal one is better? don't know...Mine is broken where the ring goes to hold it to the motor axle. Not decided yet if I shoud get a new one or not (both my motor and wheel are shot), since I have a complete Vintage Air package just waiting in the garage... but I wanted to install that last with a new interior, and its maybe 1 or 2 years away, and I'm driving the car in the summers.

I want to do vintage air as well. So does that just eliminate your stock heater box? Or do you still need it for heat?

Where did you order it from? I guess I should have looked before I bought a new gasket seal kit for my heater box.

Does it use the factory heater fan?

I got it from Summit, but I guess you can order direct from Vintage Air also. No, you remove the stock fan, and it comes with a cover for the hole.

Why replace a heater-a/c box that works fine? new style compressor? Sure, but the original evaporator works fine & you have the option of fresh air which is very helpful if your windows fog up in the winter.... The new systems block the fresh air connection.. I'm running the stock evaporator, stock condenser, stock blower fan with added relays so it actually moves a decent amount of air... I'm running a Sanden Compressor with the Bouchlion brackets... I used the stock liquid line, a OE style receiver dryer, I used the formed metal portions of stock suction & discharge hoses... Finished the system up three weeks ago, the temp locally has been 100-106 & I'm reading 47 degrees at my center duct....

In my case, the heater core is leaking, (so it's disconnected) the blower motor and the wheel is broken, all vent hoses under the dash is missing, controls does not work, and everything on the other side of the firewall is gone. On top of that I don't have any knowledge of how to fix an AC, so I bought a Vinage Air system. And I thought a brand new system had to be better than a 44 year old system.....But the fresh air being blocked sounds like a minus...anyway to fix that with a Vintage air system? Where does it take in the fresh air from now? (Not working in my car either right now).

The Vintage air system doesn't allow fresh air in at all, and changing that would require redesigning the under dash unit...

As far as the original unit, heater cores are available, as are blower motors & squirrel cages... There are no vent hoses for the OE system so I don't follow what your missing, usually the drivers side duct is gone, the other parts are usually still there and if missing not to hard to source...  Whatever the case you've done the swap so making it work for your needs is the best route to take...

I just wouldn't suggest it as necessarily the best option for others....

I mean the ducts, not hoses (I'm Swedsih...), don't have those. Would be nice to have fresh air though...Where exactly is the fresh air intake on the car?

Passenger side cowl above the heater-A/C box... There's a block off plate in your Vintage Air kit, lower left corner of the top picture...
