71 cuda headlights
« on: July 26, 2014 - 11:29:17 PM »
Are the headlights on a 71 cuda a special housing or just the kind you can get at your local parts store? Also is the light harness different than the front motor harness or are they all included in one?

Two seperate harnesses. "Enigine" harness and "Forward Light " harness.

The headlights are the standard 4 bulb system size. Same as any other car of that era, so the housings are all the same. Didn't know you could buy them at a parts store ? :dunno:

:iagree:  The headlight harness also runs the front side markers.  And no parts store around me has the harness.

Ya ya funny guy Alan.  I wanted to know if you could buy them from say lordco or somewhere or if it was from more of a specialty place like Roseville.

I know the harness is the same type of deal when buying. So correct me if I'm wrong but the lights will just have a spot on the back for a plug from the headlight harness, not a pigtail type hanging from the lights

I wasn't being funny....I don't think you can buy new ones anywhere :dunno: I would be surprised if you can find them. :2cents:

Yes headlight harness has plugs. No wires on the bulbs.

I don't know if you have a lordco out there or if it's only a BC thing but I can get them there in Stock for 15 bucks each for either high or low beam.
They said they are the DOT ones for they are not smooth glass they are the ribbed kind that would have came stock? Did these come with clear flat glass or textured?

I think your original post seemed to be talking about the headlight bucket, not the lamp. I'm pretty sure that it is the bucket Allan was talking about not being able to get.
