PCP '74 Chally resto-mod
« on: July 27, 2014 - 06:47:25 AM »
My dad and I have been working on this on-off for about 5 years and it's now finally come to completion. It started off as a beat up but mostly parts-complete and rust-free KY5 theme rallye with a 318 (360-4bbl factory) and AC. The 318 was plucked out and a rebuilt '69 340 4bbl engine was dropped in.

That is a fine looking ride! Any pics of the transformation that brought it to this point?

Car looks great.... :2thumbs:

Being that it's a very rare "L" code 74....I would have left it yellow  :2cents:  Just too many purple ones running around out there....

...but to each they're own....You got a great looking car to be very proud of !
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

I wish I'd taken pictures and I'm really kicking myself now for not doing so. I don't think I even have a picture of it as it looked when we first got it.

Thanks. We considered restoring it as a KY5, but figured since we were definitely putting in an incorrect 340 or 440 and 70 bumpers & guards and the blackout decal, there wasn't much of a point to keep the color correct. We also had no intention of ever selling it or making it a show car, so we went with the color we both liked best.

What is the L code and how rare is it?
