I'm pretty sure that extra strip of metal is from an inspector.  Probably a quality control think for the "body in white".  I've also seen punched letters in the tad itself.

Don't worry about getting it done for some deadline.  It's more important to get it together correctly.
I Agree completely. Just a little frustrated at my progress. Legendary said they were going to be shipping my interior this week.so I have that to look forward to. Decided to pay a trim shop to install it instead of doing it myself. Going to the cruise on Saturday anyway to see all the cool stuff. Met a dude last night from the Richard Petty Experience who brought a 1970 Challenger Convertible up for display. Going to be a fun weekend.

Sent the seats out to the trim shop to be recovered. Here's the before pictures.

Sorry, Been a cold winter and my garage isn't heated. End of the summer I got the carpet and seats installed. I'm ordering the headliner and sail panels today from Legendary. I have been impressed by the quality of their product but the website is slow and not user friendly.

So, I have a transmission leak and it looks like a leaking rear main seal. When I got the car it had been sitting since around 2004 and I guess some of the gaskets have hardened a bit. The transmission is not original to the car so I'm debating just buying a new one. The engine is the original 383 2bbl. Any suggestions as to what brand to buy? Would be open to having the transmission rebuilt but I don't have a trans guy in the Detroit area that I trust. If you know somebody that you would recommend that would be great too.

Black, Stock interiors doesn't make the plush in green. Don't know if I'll stay with it or go back to the green hook and loop. The plush is really nice to the touch. The green interior is hard to match. The reason that the console isn't installed is that it has a broken door and a crack on one side. The only replacements I can find are black.

Herb's sell great quality interior spray paint in the correct mopar colours. Their green is a great match....you could do the console, seat backs, kick panels etc... http://www.herbsparts.com/products.asp?cat=829  :2thumbs:

I'm going to have the same guy that did the seats do the headliner. I don't mind paying somebody to do things I have no experience with. Mechanical stuff I'll try anything.
