Haven't posted in a while. I'll put some new pics up when I get home from work. Unfortunately although it looks great I just can't seem to get it to the point where it runs like it's supposed to. I have tried everything I can think of to get the 383 running consistently. It will run great for a couple of days and then its back to the drawing board. The problems run the full gammut. From rough idle to hesitation to no start. Really frustrating. Started off after I got it with carb problems. Had the original 2BBl rebuilt by a local carb shop. Ran good for a few weeks and then went to crap. Replaced the fuel filter cleaned out the carb bowl and discovered that the accelerator pump looked like hell. Replaced it and the gasket again ran good for a few days and then crap again. Decided that I needed to start over on the fuel system so I ran up to Roseville where Dave hooked me up with a new gas tank and sending unit. Replaced all the fuel lines, got rid of the carter 2bbl and replaced it with a new 4bbl on a vintage DP4B edelbrock intake. Took forever to find an air cleaner that would let me close the hood . Finally found one at Mancini racing (Again just a short drive away). Got it all plumbed up and again ran great for about 2 weeks. Again starts stumbling on takeoff. but it idles great. Then it began to not restart after being driven for 20 minutes (Not cranking at all) Replaced the starter solenoid which seemed to cure that issue. All in all a very frustrating 2+ years.
