I used Rust Bullet on the inner quarter panel frame area.

I've read stories where POR 15 was chipping off after time.

Looking good.

Been a while since I posted but I finally got the new roof skin on. It had some fitment issues but nothing major. I did use panel bonding adhesive to really make a water tight seal on that skin and coated the frame with POR15 before I did so. I left the metal bare on the parts that had the adhesive bead. A bunch of C clamps and the job is done. that roof is on there tight! Since then I have removed what you can see in the pic so I can tear away at the A pillars and upper cowl. More pics to come.

Here you can see the rust holes in the upper cowl panel.

Although the passenger side a pillar wasn't badly rusted it still has to go because I'm doing the upper cowl swap and the kick panels. This, however, is the driver side. Ouch!

I decided to make a rough cut out of the upper cowl so I have more room to work through those spot welds.

Latest pic. One of the grates was missing. as you can see it filled up with tons of leaves when it was stored outside about 10 years ago. Once I have a clean cutaway of the upper cowl I'll wire brush away the surface rust and probably do a POR15 coating as well before setting the new pillars and upper cowl panel.

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to update my progress. My biggest problem is having multiple projects and also helping others with theirs. But no more! My Challenger has moved from the garage to my outdoor (covered) work area and I've begun really powering through getting this thing back together.

As you can see I have the upper cowl removed, I have the new roof skin attached and after taking the fenders and doors off I realized how bad the outer kick panels had rusted  :bricks1:

Here is the drivers side A-pillar removed. I decided not to completely dismantle the kick panels and instead fabricate only the sheet that attaches to the firewall because that's all that was required.

aaand here is the new drivers side a-pillar installed and waiting for the panel bonding adhesive to dry. This stuff is absolutely great if you prep your work before you using. I feel confident that there will be no moisture seepage inbetween spot welds.

Good work! I can see you're in the same boat as I was- the more you look, the more you find, rustwise. It's amazing how the years fly by, eh? Keep at her, you'll get there.

Finally got the upper cowl from AMD. Fitting was a bit of a pain. A lot of manipulating and bending and hammering to get it to sit just right and I'm still 90% on the fitment.
