fuel line
« on: July 30, 2014 - 08:39:58 PM »
Hello all
I have a 1974 challenger with a 360. For some reason I ordered 3/8 fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump. My sending unit is 5/16. I have the pre bent fuel line from the pump to the carb that is 5/16. Is it an issue having  2 different sizes? will that cause a fuel pressure issue or should I just get the 3/8 line from the pump to the carb?

:iagree:
The only issue you may have is the piece of rubber fuel line from the sender to the 3/8" line. You will need to use 3/8" rubber fuel line and clamp it tight enough to seal on the 5/16" sender. :2cents:

I actually made this mistake when ordering my Tank sending unit, the line is 5/16 but the sending unit was 3/8 like the others said i just clamped it down and it hasn't leaked a drop in the past 2 years. You should be fine.

I'm running a 74 challenger with a 318.

I think I bought it off ebay, but can't remember. It was about 6 years ago. Not sure how I ended up with 3/8 line.

Fine Lines and Inline Tube sell line kits.  I think The Right Stuff does also.  I prefer Fine Lines.
