kickdown lever shaft

Guess that is what it's called. Anyway, 727 automatic, iit leaks from the shaft. Is there anyway
to replace the seal/gasket without removing the trans?

 I t can be done , you really need to drop the pan & valve body then using a Cclamp or a bolt & a pair of washers you can press the seal into place , using a bolt you need a washer about the od of the seal like a fender washer & the same below & tighten the nut to press the seal into place

Thanks for the info. sounds like a good time to add a shift kit
