Legendary Seats Best Quality???
« on: August 06, 2014 - 05:24:55 PM »
Half way through installing my 73 Cuda seat covers; on one of the bucket backs they forgot to stitch all the way across the back/bottom panel, which also made the inner cord unravel. Pissed me off; I called them and they said to send a pic, which I did. Lady said she would talk to her boss and I would probably have to send it back for repairs. Bull ****.  If/when she gets back to me, I will tell them that I want a new one sent to me immediately.  Oh, it has the inspector's tag on it; inspected by "R".
Lesson?; I don't know what it might be.  You can't trust anyone?

Bought new in '71; I wanted the Challenger but they were $2850; too much $ so I got the 318, 3 speed on the floor, Twister Duster for $2100.

Man I'm sorry to hear of the trouble your having. I hope they do something to make up for it and get you fixed up real quick.
I would be pissed off too.
I hope my seat covers don't come in like that. But makes a good point to inspect them as soon as they arrive.
When I talked to them I was visiting with a guy named John Mallory, He seemed like a very good guy over the phone. Maybe talking to him might expedite things. I don't know. But may be worth a try.
Hope they get you fixed up in a timely manner.

I got all new interior  from them and it was great. It's surprizing to me that they dont just ship you out a new one. Shipping it back for repairs is ridiculous.

Legendary Seats Best Quality???

Well, in every project with 1000 different tasks, each having multiple components, one is bound to have a certain percentage of defects; it has to be built into the schedule. Just frustrating.  Like the driveshaft thing I went through; unforeseen events happen over which we have no control but at least that was not a quality issue.
I still have not heard back from Legendary.

I still have not heard back from Legendary.

Here is the info from the guy I talked to. It might be worth a try talking to someone else there. His extension is provided as well.

They got back to me; a lady named Lush; BIG runaround; since I got it from Classic Industries, they are the ones who have to provide order information before Legendary will do anything; and they won't give me another one; they want to fix this one.  I am now wary of their quality and their customer service.

Just curious why you didn't order from Legendary direct?

If you ordered it from Classic Industries, shouldn't they be the ones to fix this problem?  :clueless:

I agree...why the heck are you even bothering with Legendary ? Call up Classic Industries and tell them you want a new one...

Do the seat covers have "Legendary tags" ? I wouldn't be surprized if Classic Industries is selling other companies products as well.

Yes, they are Legendary with Legendary "inspection" tags on them. Why order from Classic? To get 20 percent off. Why won't Classic send me  a seat back cover? They might but the product is warranted by Legendary; which is why they want it back so they can fix it instead of giving me a new one.  We aren't done with this fiasco yet.

Just curious.
Would it be faster/cheaper to take it to a local trim place and fix it?
I understand it may be a principle thing but might be a faster/cheaper fix if shipping charges are involved to have it dealt with locally?.
Sorry to hear the fiasco.

Absolutely; that is what I was going to do is have it sewn locally, but the  vertical reinforcing cord inside has unravelled because it wasn't held by the missing horizontal stitching and that was sewn by a special machine.  That is what makes the vertical ribs on the outside so it has to be perfect. I could have easily fixed it if it was just the regular stitching.
