73 Cuda Front Bumper Filler
« on: August 10, 2014 - 01:57:28 PM »
Tried to search for this; but does a '73 Cuda use some type of rubber filler strip between the grill and front bumper. If yes do you have a pix and or part number. Thanks for the help!

Yes it does; about a one inch wide strip of hard rubber, gray in color. Thing is that after 40 years, mine and all I see are warped to beat hell. What I did was to re-drill the holes in my bumper brackets and move the bumper back one inch toward the body, thereby eliminating the need for a spacer, and for it to look like earlier models. There are pics of how to do that if you search for it. Get rid of the baby buggy bumpers too.  Looks much better..

Bought new in '71; I wanted the Challenger but they were $2850; too much $ so I got the 318, 3 speed on the floor, Twister Duster for $2100.

Those parts are not re-made so finding good old can be difficult. A lot of people have done as dpcd has done. I think i'm one of the few who prefer the look of the bumper a little further out with the contrasting filler piece.

Installed my bumper today; definitely don't miss the rubber filler and the bumper sits closer to the grill so you don't need it.
