If you are going with the 70-72 bumpers, are you thinking of a white 72 side stripe?  or the 73-74 stripe?  both would look great!!

The 360 will look very much like the original 318 would have from the factory.

Time to figure out a few pieces to the puzzle.....

where to get the sway bar bushings?  (not the end links) also what size were the factory sway bars?
torsion bars....what size for nice cruiser?
Shocks.......no road racing just a cruiser?
transmission.....order tci or ?? ??  (had the Duster trans rebuilt local and it does not shift as firm/crisp as what I want)

Isn't this thread about "Unrestored driver E-bodies" ??? seems to have been taken over and I'm just wondering why not rename the thread or move the restoration of your car to another thread?

Great work on the car by the way.

The topic evolved just as the project has played out.   Not really posting enough detail to start a resto thread.  Just thought I would update from time to time.

Keep it going, looks good

When the thread started I was intrigued because I had the same idea with my challenger. Now that it's being cut apart for some metal work, I'm leaning towards keeping it apart and doing a full disassemble, strip and build. Funny how my initial intentions were the same as yours and may have changed the same as yours...everyone told me this would happen

Yes, it happens that way.  The ole snowball effect in full force.  " I will clean this up a bit, paint that. Then, "okay well I will start from scratch". :hyper:

Details are always fun to add....There's real no "right or wrong" . I usually put an "E" on E Body rear ends, but like I said...anything could work :2thumbs:

Is your dip stick interfere with your alternator ? Looks odd :2cents:

The dipstick tube is just sitting in place.  It will get installed correctly before it goes in the car.

The guy painting the car said he is trying to put back what was on the parts/car.  :dunno:   Even put the runs back on the firewall.   :grinyes:   I thought B would mean B body but maybe someone put B for Barracuda that day? ?  :dunno:   Or did the painter see the faint remains of an E and see it as a B??   :smilielol:   Either way it is way more detailed than I was looking for but at this point I am going to sit back and let him do what he thinks the car needs!      It is going to look WAY BETTER than I could have asked for!!  :bananasmi    My plan was to make a driver, then just take it apart, clean and paint everything.   Then it kept snowballing..... :smilielol:

Are you running a Fluidamper?  The stock damper on a 360 should have a large weight on it.  Yours does not.  I just wanted to make sure you weren't using a 318 damper on the 360...that won't work.

In the "reference pictures" thread, I think "Bullitt" posted pictures of his 73 8 3/4.

The receipt from the machine shop shows "new balancer" and also "spin balance crankshaft and weight match rotating assembly - external balance".
They do a lot of Mopar motors at the machine shop so I feel pretty comfortable in what they do. They also did 10 pulls on the dyno and it was smooth running.

I don't have a good pic of the damper before it was painted to see what brand it is.  I can only tell it had a square red white decal on it?
