Car show hesitation...
« on: August 14, 2014 - 07:36:31 PM »
Sorry mods I don't know where to put this.

I previously posted about the Union Grove Show. Ok.... had a good time all's good (or so I thought). As we got home that evening my volt gauge was reading really low. Ok.... I forget about it for a few days. This last Sunday I go to fire NIKKI up for the Frame Park show. I hop in, turn the key... click click click. Faaaaaaaa* so I get out the battery charger and load tester. Battery is very low. Give her a 20 min charge, she fires right up but my gauge is still reading real low. I'm thinking maybe my alternator took a dump. Oh well, we can take my Pontiac instead. Last night I have a little time.... lets get NIKKI checked out for the Dodge City Show. And what do I see........??? My alternator has been unplugged! Ahhhhhh now I'm pizzzzed. Your hands under my hood is equivalent to having your hands under my girls blouse. If your looking for a broken knee cap you just found it. Maybe I'm over reacting, but this really rubs me the wrong way!

Hmmm   I appreciate your point, but I'd be darn glad it was something that simple!    Perhaps just "good vibrations"

That`s exactly why my hood is closed on a show, unless someone askes me to open it.

Some people are just born to screw up other peoples stuff. I love it when I catch one of them with their hands inside my car or reaching towards the underhood area. I made it a point to get loud and embarrass the crap out of them. Most of the time it is no big deal, but every now and then you get some jerk that wants to challenge you on it. That is when he sees fairly quickly that he is way outnumbered. That is the other reason I get loud - to let everyone within earshot know who is doing what....    :grinyes:

Mine has come off.  Working under the hood its easy to bump it and eventually it could wiggle off

Myself, I doubt someone reached in and did that.  But you never know.........

You know what? I take that back........  I just remembered, it was about 10 years ago when I had a drop top 68 L36 Vette.  I was at a car show in Raleigh, NC with the top down. I walked away for a few and came back to see a guy reaching over the drivers side door and moving the steering wheel left/right and pretty  hard.   I was so shocked at just seeing that, that I don't even remember what I said in response or what his excuse was

I guess ANYthing is possible

Bastards. Yes, there are lots of people out there who steal parts, key cars, and otherwise do mischief; these people are called malicious morons.  Only way to stop them is either not go to shows or watch your ride like a hawk.

My biggest pet peeve is when they let people on bicycles in and they ride and/or walk their bikes between cars. Saw a chevelle scratched this way, guy lost his mind and rightfully so
