TTi exhaust tips

I have been putting the final touches on my cuda.  I installed a full TTi 3" system with x-pipe.  I didn't want to spend the money on TTi's exhaust tips since they cost twice as much.  I bought PG Classic slip on tips (made in China).  When I attempted to install them there is no way they will fit with the bends of the TTi tail pipe.  When checking the TTi website, it looks like I can only put on TTi's weld on style of tips.  It should be easy and the tail pipes look reasonable aligned with the valence.  Now I have to spend $300 on tips.  Im just putting it out there for anybody else trying to save a few buck with the TTi system, it looks like you pretty much have to buy their tips.

I got a TTI system in boxes also, but for my Challenger, was gonna use my old tips, it looks (on their website) that the Challenger has a straight pipe to the valance and the Cuda has a bent one, hopefully my tips fit.

I hope yours fits too.  $300 for tips is a bit pricey!!  Let everyone know if it works differently on your challenger than a cuda.

For the record...TTI Cuda tips are welded directly to their pipes and look absolutely beautiful. Unlike originals, they basically come straight off the pipe if I remember correctly.

Now Challenger is a different story....The TTI pipes are offset like originals so you can use other companies tips. I did not want to buy the TTI Challengers tips either so I bought a set of nice stainless off of EBay for cheap. One problem was they were the exact same size, so I had to have the tips expanded to fit over the pipes.

I bought cheaper tips for my TTi system, no way I was going to pay $400.  This was for a Challenger

Hey John, those look like the TTi cuda tips I need.  Im gonna have to wait for another paycheck before I weld those in.  I hope PG Classics will let me return my other tips.

The TTI cuda tips are ok looking and they fit but they don't look like the originals. They're to straight where the originals are a little bit rounded and match the cutout better. I talked to TTi about the difference and all they could say is that they are exact reproductions. Certainly not reproductions of original tips! Why go through the process to make something and not make it closer to original?

I don't know what brand they are, but I really like the stainless steel polished one's I bought from crocha617.

   I bought the 3" PG Classics for my Chally and had to expand them too before welding them on. You would think they would make them just a little bigger to slide over.

My PG Classic tips slid over my pipes with a little persuasion.  Not that they work, but they at least fit the 3" diameter.  I like the look of challenger tip better, but have to go Cuda style anyway, even if they are not exact reproductions.  My car isn't that kind of build.  I won't really notice unless I have the original to compare to, and Im sure it will look good enough.

Not saying the PG Classics tips weren't quality pieces, but my experience with Chinese sourced parts would make me concerned.  I don't think I'd pay for a whole TTI system minus the tips and then go with a lesser product on the very part of the exhaust that shows.  Maybe there's another brand not made in China, but otherwise I'd bite the bullet and pay for the TTI tips.  Just my .02

What mufflers did you go with?  The default mufflers are the Dynomax Super Turbos, but my experience in the distant past is that Turbo mufflers don't give the best / deepest tone that I'm after.  But the turbos get fairly good reviews so maybe modern turbos sound different than they did in the 70's??

So my question is has anyone tried buffing the TTI logo off TTI tips? WTF do I have to have an advertisement on my $$$ exhaust tips?

FWIW, I got some 2.5" Stainless 'Cuda ones (they're not TTI) I'll sell for $90 plus shipping.
