possible cheap source for 1.1 torsion bars?
« on: August 22, 2014 - 06:59:52 PM »
I was at a buddy's shop today and he had a 2008 Ford Ranger on the hoist when I noticed it had a torsion bar suspension. I thought hummm?
Got out the tape measure and they looked to be about 41" long.( best I could measure installed in the truck?) I then measured the bar diameter and it was about 1.1"
I then measured the socket and it looked to be about 1 3/8" which is bigger than E/B Body's  but could be easily machined down to fit.. Not sure about the clocking though?
Just thought I'd throw this out there thinking maybe someone that has a yard or works at a shop might confirm/check it out too?
Bigs?  :dunno:  :naughty:
