Your dash wires come from the two disconnects that come out of the firewall/bulkhead connectors. They then go underneath of the steering column into a  metal shield, one on each side, going up.  On my 73 I have spent the last week looking at. Want a picture? I will take one if you want it.

Bought new in '71; I wanted the Challenger but they were $2850; too much $ so I got the 318, 3 speed on the floor, Twister Duster for $2100.

If you don't have a dash yet, I highly recommend waiting to install any wiring harness.
It will be MUCH easier to install with the dash removed.
Here is a pic of the back side of mine before I installed it. The wire bundle in the center goes to the firewall and steering column. The wires to the far right are the "left" wires you were talking about.  Same thing for the other side for the heater/AC stuff and glove box. The dash holds all these in place.

Here is a pic to show that the wiring comes down and wraps around the steering column, and goes into a cover on the bottom of the column, up to the ignition switch.

If your asking me...
The pink wire for the glove box is plugged into the red boot with another pink wire feeding it. Should be the acc batt feed. The same one that powers the cig lighter if I remember right.
Not sure which gray wire your talkin about.

Oh, my dash is installed but I'm zooming in on pics.

You will be there soon.  :2thumbs:
One thing to think about. Add a new ground strap from the metal dash frame and dash cluster so it can be attached to the body frame when installing the dash.
That can sure save from some bugs in the future.

And now is the time to ask questions and do some tests before installing it.

#2 is the courtesy light that mounts under the dash and shines on the floor around your feet. In that picture it was coiled up to keep from snagging or bumping it during install. It's mounted now.
#3 it the bracket for the radio. It was previously bent that way I guess to get it out of the way. I'll straighten that out when I put the radio back in.
