Street Bikes
« on: April 25, 2005 - 08:19:39 AM »
Im buying a 99 ZX 600 w/ 4k miles.  My buddy layed it down. Bike is MINT.
It needs the right and left side fairings and front nose (plastic piece the windscreen bolts to).
Anyone know a good place to find body parts for these? What do you think the bikes worth as is?? Extremely low milage. Its got a new yoshi slip on too.   :dontknow:

That sounds like a fun bike!  As for a price, I'd probably place it around the $3,500-$4,000 marker when fixed.  I have no clue what it'd be worth otherwise.  Do you plan on keeping it or are you planning a quick resale once it's fixed?

Those bikes are about $6 to 6,500 new. Currently, it's a 6 year old bike...so $3 to 3,500  would be the most it would be worth, IMO.
If you buy new plastic from a dealer, it will cost $4 to 500 at least...assuming there aren't any broken brackets, headlight assy, bent handlebars, or other such things.

You might be able to find plastic on eGouge, but it will be hard to find all matching colors.

I'm goign to keep the bike. Hes asking 3k or best. ill give him 2k
Cheetah racing makes a full street body work kit for it for 750. I'll end up painting the bike myself pitch black. It's probably going to take 1,500 to fix so that seems fair
