IT LIVES!
« on: August 23, 2014 - 11:51:41 PM »
I know I have been asking for a lot of help over the past few years.  This is what I have been able to make with a lot of hard work, time and cubic money.  I could have not done it without the support of this community.  Thank you all.

This is my version of what I wanted in a Cuda body.  I know some of you won't like it.  I hope many of you do.  But, it is mine, so I get what I want.

It is a chrysler blue, not correct for the year.  It is a 318 2 bbl car, and only the body numbers match.  I don't care about that anymore.  It now sports a 440 stroked to 520 cu.in.  with a factory Edelbrock aluminum 6 bbl intake with original carb massaged with pro form jet plates.  Dynoed at 557 hp, 638 ft.tq on pump gas.  Full TTi exhaust.  XV Motorsport Level 1 suspension,  Afco adjustable shocks, Adco sway bars, PRB brake 12.5 in rotors front and rear.  Hydroboost brake booster.  Hotchkis upper control arms, and end links.  Subframe connectors, under radiator brace, and US cartool shock tower braces.  Transmission is a GM 4l60e 4 speed auto with a trans control unit, and programable shift points.  TSW snetterton 18" wheels with Vredestein tires.  Factory gauges customized with oil pressure gauge, and extra numbers for temperature.  Seats are stock appearing, but have been bolstered and the stock skins altered to match the foam.  I am sure there is more that I left out.

Thanks again for all the help and support.  I am sure to be here asking for more help as I get things sorted out.

I bought it with this paint on it.  It is not as perfect as it looks in pictures, but nice driver quality.  I did have to paint the engine compartment, grille, and front valence.  Ill try to get an interior shot today at Mopars on the Mississippi.  Thanks for the kind words everybody.

I love the blue & black , you have to build for you & if my car was not so rare mine would be a lot more like yours , better seats are a must , handling can definatly be enhanced & while Mopar had the best suspension in 1970 for the day it can be far better now , it should be awesome to drive now , Enjoy !!  :burnout:

I just got back from Mopars on the Mississippi mopar show.  Hot as Hades today!!  It had 55 miles on the odometer when I left.  200 mile round trip.  No issues.  I did take a fair amount of curvy back roads.  On the way there, the car was loose and unbalanced.  Kind of twitchy steering.  I stopped to get gas, and dialed in some compression on the shocks in the front.  It was set at full soft.  What a HUGE difference.  I can't wait to get the car on the lift to reach the rear shocks and get them dialed in too.  The car is a blast on curvy back roads!  Firm, but supple.  Predictable steering.  Flat cornering.  Huge power out of the corners.  Road down the highway smoothly  without exhaust drone.  The dipstick tube leaked on the way there, but not on the way home.  Hmmm?  I got stuck using 91 octane, and had the occasional ping, but not too bad or often.  Im always on the look out for 93 octane.  Speedo reads slow, and I only got 11MPG.  I was hoping for better.  I did roll it up to 122mph on a backroad with no drama.  I still have a bunch of details to take care of;  like the electrical regarding the interior and tail lights.  Then think about getting the A/C charged.  Sure could have used it today.  It keeps getting better.
